Why RateGen connects to Gmail
DMC teams receive agent enquiries, revisions, booking confirmations and supplier communication by email. When a business Gmail account is connected, RateGen can organise that information into the same workspace used for customers, quotations and bookings.
The integration is optional. RateGen does not access a Gmail account until an authorised user starts Google’s connection flow and grants the permissions shown on the consent screen.
Every permission supports a visible workflow
The exact permissions requested are displayed by Google before access is granted. RateGen should request only the minimum scopes required by the enabled feature.
What happens after connection
- RateGen detects relevant agent enquiries and can create a lead or enquiry record.
- Skyla extracts the trip or booking context needed by the DMC workflow.
- RateGen can prepare a quotation or response using the DMC’s rates, knowledge and pricing rules.
- An authorised user can review communication before it is sent where that approval flow is configured.
- The conversation thread remains connected to the appropriate customer, booking or supplier record.
What RateGen does not do with Gmail data
- RateGen does not sell Gmail data.
- RateGen does not use Gmail data for advertising or ad targeting.
- RateGen does not use Gmail content to train general-purpose AI models.
- RateGen does not access a mailbox after the integration has been disconnected and authorisation has been revoked.
RateGen’s use of information received from Google APIs is intended to comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Connect, review, disconnect or delete
An authorised workspace user controls whether Gmail is connected. The integration can be disconnected from RateGen, and access can also be revoked from the Google Account’s third-party connections settings.
Disconnecting stops future Gmail API access. Requests to delete Google-derived data retained in RateGen can be sent to hello@rategen.ai.
Protecting connected information
RateGen may store secure authentication tokens, extracted booking fields and conversation references required to provide the connected workflow. Access is limited to authorised systems, personnel and service providers needed to operate the service.
Further information about collection, retention, sharing and user rights is available in the RateGen Privacy Policy.
